A passion for precision
In 2001, Dr Ulich Wiest founded a unique company – Wiest AG – with the aim of raising the calibration of robots to a new level of absolute accuracy.
The birth of an easy-to-use calibration system that allows everything around the robot to be measured directly in the production cell. A mission that sets Wiest products apart.
Our mission
Since its foundation in 2001 by Dr Ulrich Wiest, Wiest AG has developed into a reliable and competent partner for the industry. Since then, the company has developed products and strategies in the fields of robot calibration and robot cell measurement.
With its three main products LaserLAB, RotoLAB and GripLAB, Wiest AG is one of the leading suppliers of optical measurement systems for industrial robots. Based in southern Germany, we are at the heart of the robotics and automation industry.
Whether automotive, aerospace or medical technology: WIEST AG’s customers come from a wide range of industries and receive solutions for all measurement and calibration tasks on industrial robots.
Dr Ulrich Wiest, founder of WIEST AG
In 2001, Dr Ulrich Wiest started product development of 3D measurement systems and founded Wiest AG. The development of the “Absolutely Accurate Robot” and a measuring robot at KUKA Roboter GmbH, as well as the associated integration of various measuring systems, the kinematic modelling of industrial robots or working with various coordinate measuring techniques are just some of the countless tasks that Ulrich Wiest has managed to accomplish during his career. Dr Ulrich Wiest studied mathematics with a minor in computer science at the Technical University of Munich and worked as a research assistant there and at the Technical University of Augsburg. He later received his doctorate from Karlsruhe University’s Faculty of Informatics.
Sadly, Dr Ulrich Wiest passed away unexpectedly in 2019.

Because quality has a standard
A customer-oriented service, short delivery times and a consistently high quality of our products are a matter of course for us. That is why quality standards have always been an integral part of our corporate philosophy.
To demonstrate this commitment, we had our quality management system certified to DIN EN ISO 9001:2015 in February 2016.
EQM ZERT GmbH has confirmed that our quality management system meets the requirements of the international standard and that we are committed to continuous improvement of our business processes.
But for us, quality means more than just meeting a standard. We want to be a reliable partner for our customers and suppliers and are interested in long-term, mutually beneficial business relationships based on trust.
