Since the KRC4-controls do no longer provide serial interfaces there was formerly only one software solution available to facilitate communication to our RotoLAB. The program RL_Babel.exe had to be installed to the KRC4 to then handle the communication between basic system (KRL program) and a USB serial adapter on the Windows side.

Apart from this most budget-friendly variant there is now a hardware solution available that relies on the EtherCat-interface by Kuka.

For the communcation between our TCP measuring system RotoLAB and the Kuka KRC4 control, we offer currently two options:

  • SW-Solution: Converter program RL-Babel.exe and the driver for a USB serial adapter are installed on the controler.

  • HW-Solution: Our EtherCat serial adapter (item no.: 5 32 037) is connected to the EtherCat interface via network cable. The adapter is pre-configured at the factory and comes with respective robot programs. Installation on KRC4 is no longer required.
